The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Multi-Learnership Programme 2026 and Electrical Learnership Programme 2026. The closing date for applications is 19 December 2025. These programmes are created for young people who want real skills, real experience, and a real chance to build a future in construction or electrical work.
Across South Africa, many young people want a good job but struggle to get experience. These learnerships are built to help you take your first big step. They are offered in partnership with the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA), the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), In Touch Community Developers, and Edu House South Africa. The goal is simple: opening doors for youth who want to learn a skill, work with their hands, and become employable.
These programmes run for 12 months and give both classroom learning and practical workplace exposure. You will spend months working on real projects where you build confidence, grow your knowledge, and understand how things work in the field. This is not a programme where you sit in a class only — you actually learn while doing the work.
Many young people believe success only comes with a university degree. But South Africa needs skilled artisans just as much, especially in construction and electrical fields. That is why these learnerships are designed to help you gain skills that employers truly look for. You will be trained by qualified experts and guided in real working environments so you understand daily responsibilities, safety rules, and hands-on tasks.
These learnerships do not just teach you theory. You will work in environments where schools, clinics, houses, bridges and other community projects are built or maintained. By the time you complete the programme, you will have the skills that can help you access apprenticeships, trade tests, higher training, or even permanent jobs.
The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure plays a major role in building and maintaining important public structures across the province. This includes government buildings, roads, community facilities, and housing projects. For many years, the Department has supported youth development by creating opportunities that allow young people to grow into artisans and professionals.
Their partnership with accredited training authorities ensures high-quality learning that follows national standards. This makes the programme a trusted pathway for anyone who wants to enter the construction or electrical sector.
This programme gives training in several construction fields that are always in demand. Available learnerships include:
