Marula Platinum Mine Learnership 2025: Apply Now for a Life-Changing Engineering Career

Marula Platinum Mine invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for its Engineering Learnership Programme 2025 (Multiple Posts). The closing date for applications is 04 September 2025. If you are a young South African passionate about engineering and ready to build a future in the mining industry, this opportunity could change your life.

Why This Opportunity Is Special

South Africa’s mining sector remains one of the most important industries for creating jobs and building the economy. Skilled artisans are always in demand, and Marula Platinum Mine is opening its doors to train the next generation of engineers. This learnership programme gives you both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical training, meaning you won’t just sit in a classroom — you’ll actually work with real equipment under the guidance of qualified experts.

By joining this programme, you’ll get the chance to grow from a learner into a professional artisan. Once completed, you will have the skills to stand out in the job market, not just in mining but also in many other industries where technical expertise is required.

What Fields Are Available?

The programme is offering learnerships in four engineering disciplines:

  • Diesel Mechanic – Learn to service, repair, and maintain heavy mining vehicles and equipment.
  • Boilermaker Plater – Get trained in steel fabrication, cutting, welding, and structural maintenance.
  • Electrical – Work on electrical systems, wiring, motors, and maintenance of mine equipment.
  • Fitting including Machining – Gain skills in fitting, assembling, and machining parts for mining machinery.

Each field prepares you for a recognized trade qualification, making you employable across South Africa and beyond.

Purpose of the Learnership

The main goal of this programme is to train and qualify learners as artisans. Mining companies like Marula depend on skilled workers who can maintain and repair critical equipment. Through this structured training, learners will:

  • Develop both technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Work under supervision in a safe environment.
  • Learn how to diagnose and fix engineering problems.
  • Gain leadership exposure by assisting in supervisory roles.
  • Understand safety rules, regulations, and compliance standards at the mine.

In short, the programme is designed to prepare you for a real job, not just give you a certificate.

What You’ll Do During the Learnership

While enrolled in this programme, learners will:

  • Be trained step by step towards becoming a qualified artisan.
  • Assist experienced artisans with repairs, maintenance, and installations.
  • Complete all engineering training phases, including both classroom and on-the-job practice.
  • Work under a mentor (artisan or foreman) to build technical confidence.
  • Learn how to prevent equipment breakdowns that affect production.
  • Develop leadership qualities by handling limited supervisory tasks.

This training is structured to make sure that by the end of the programme, you are ready for a real engineering career.

Why You Should Apply

This learnership is not just another training programme — it is a career-defining opportunity. By completing it, you will:

  • Earn a pathway to becoming a qualified artisan.
  • Build valuable technical and engineering skills.
  • Position yourself for future employment in mining and related industries.
  • Gain practical work readiness skills that make you competitive in the job market.

South Africa has a huge demand for artisans, and this programme helps bridge that gap. If you are serious about your career, this is one of the best opportunities you can grab in 2025.
