About the Job

The Pharmacy Sales Assistant will play an important role in making sure the store runs smoothly and customers get the best shopping experience. In this role, you will help customers find products, process payments, and keep the store clean and well-organized.

Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Sales Assistant, your daily duties will include:

• Greeting and assisting customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Handling customer payments accurately using the store’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Balancing daily sales and receipts according to company policies.
• Restocking shelves and keeping products neatly arranged on the sales floor.
• Conducting regular price checks and fixing any price differences found.
• Staying up to date with promotions, new products, and special offers.
• Providing advice to customers about products based on their needs.
• Maintaining clean and attractive visual displays throughout the store.
• Following all housekeeping standards to keep the store safe and tidy.
• Handling customer complaints and escalating issues to management when needed.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this job, you must meet the following requirements:

Education:

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification is essential.

Experience:

• At least 5 months of experience working at a till point or cashier desk in a retail store.
• A proven track record in retail sales, including working directly with customers and handling payments.

Skills and Knowledge Needed

The perfect candidate for this role will have:

• Strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
• Knowledge of stock handling and merchandising standards.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to speak both Afrikaans and English fluently (preferred).
• Knowledge of different payment methods, including cash, card, vouchers, and coupons.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail.
• A positive, outgoing, and approachable personality.
