Key Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be doing in this exciting role:

1. Financial Management

• Make sure financial processes are followed correctly and efficiently every day.
• Help control spending and keep a close eye on costs, waste, and stock levels.
• Monitor and improve business performance indicators like sales, profit margins, and customer counts.
• Check daily performance reports and take action where needed to improve results.

2. Operational Management

• Keep tight control over stock and inventory to avoid waste and shortages.
• Perform daily checks on health and safety, hygiene, repairs, and maintenance, reporting any issues to the Restaurant Manager.
• Help create action plans to improve audit results and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure that all Nando’s operational standards and requirements are followed.

3. People Management

• Support the Restaurant Manager in managing shifts and ensuring the restaurant always has enough staff.
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing new employees according to company policies.
• Monitor attendance and ensure team members follow company rules and procedures.
• Encourage teamwork and a positive working environment where staff feel supported and motivated.
• Give feedback, handle performance issues fairly, and ensure that training is up to date for all team members.

4. Marketing and Customer Service

• Assist with running local and national marketing campaigns to promote sales.
• Handle customer complaints politely and professionally, ensuring every guest feels valued.
• Help improve results from mystery shopper reports by taking corrective actions.
• Promote Nando’s in the community through local marketing activities that grow the restaurant’s customer base.
• Step up and take full responsibility for the restaurant when the Restaurant Manager is away.

What You Need to Apply

To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following:

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
• 2–3 years of restaurant management experience (more than 3 years preferred)
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Sound understanding of restaurant operations
• A valid driver’s license and own vehicle (preferred)
