Nedbank – 80 Hour Service Consultant (Apply Before 05 December 2025)

Your goal is to make banking easier, faster, and safer for every customer that walks into the branch.

Your Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Helping and Supporting Clients

You will spend most of your time helping clients with their banking needs, such as:

  • Assisting clients with using self-service machines and digital banking tools
  • Helping them download and log in to banking apps
  • Showing them how to buy airtime, data, or other services
  • Helping them get bank statements, cards, and documents
  • Answering questions and solving basic problems
  • Guiding clients through their online banking processes
  • Making clients feel welcome and valued
  • Building strong relationships with regular clients
  • Finding possible sales leads and referring them to the correct department

Your job is to make sure every person leaves the bank feeling helped and happy.


2. Working with Cash and Banking Systems

You will also deal with important cash and banking tasks, such as:

  • Accepting cash deposits and giving withdrawals
  • Balancing and securing cash in your area
  • Filling up and checking ATMs and other devices
  • Handling foreign exchange requests (where needed)
  • Making sure all documents are correct and prepared for transfer
  • Reporting any cash problems or shortages
  • Keeping all machines clean, stocked, and working properly

This part of the job is very important because it involves money and security.


3. Risk, Safety, and Rules

Because this is a bank job, you must follow strict safety and risk rules, including:

  • Checking every client’s identity
  • Following all cash handling procedures
  • Preventing fraud and mistakes
  • Reporting anything suspicious
  • Staying within the allowed cash limits

This helps to protect both the clients and the bank.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience Needed

Essential Qualification:

  • You must have a Diploma (NQF Level 6)

Preferred Qualification:

  • A qualification in Banking Services (like a Higher Certificate in Banking – NQF Level 5) will be a big advantage

  • 1–2 years experience in retail, banking, or client service
  • Experience working with cash
  • Must be comfortable with technology
  • Experience in solving basic problems for clients
  • Forex (Foreign Exchange) experience is a bonus
