Nedbank: Apply Now for the 80-Hour Service Consultant Role

If you have a passion for helping people, enjoy problem-solving, and want to grow your career in banking, then the Nedbank 80-Hour Service Consultant position could be the perfect opportunity for you. This role is ideal for young professionals who want to learn more about client service, digital banking tools, cash handling, and frontline banking operations. Nedbank is one of South Africa’s most trusted financial brands, and joining their team gives you a strong start in the banking industry.

Why This Job Matters

Banking is changing fast, and customers now rely heavily on digital channels for everyday services. However, many clients still need guidance, support, and human assistance when navigating online banking, ATM devices, or self-service zones. This is where the Service Consultant becomes essential.

In this role, you help clients use digital tools confidently, manage cash transactions, and ensure devices and machines work smoothly. You become the face of the branch and help create a welcoming and supportive customer experience.

Understanding the Purpose of the Job

The main goal of the Service Consultant position is to educate clients on using digital and self-service banking options while also handling cash, performing first-line device checks, and ensuring the branch runs smoothly. This role helps reduce queues, improves customer satisfaction, and encourages more people to use digital channels.

Key Responsibilities You Will Handle

As a Service Consultant, your job covers three main areas: client engagement, business operations, and risk management.

1. Client Engagement

You will spend most of your time helping clients with different banking needs, including:

  • Building strong client relationships by providing updates and keeping your promises

Client engagement is a key part of this job, and you must be patient, friendly, confident, and able to make clients feel valued.

2. Business Operations

You also play a major role in keeping the branch running effectively. Your tasks include:

  • Handling cash transactions like deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and foreign exchange
  • Completing the daily control checklist for tellers and enquiries
  • Balancing and securing stock such as bank cards
  • Destroying old or expired cards as per procedure

  • Loading cash into ATMs and ensuring all machines are working
  • Maintaining and replenishing device consumables
  • Handling cash efficiently and safely
  • Reporting discrepancies in cash holdings immediately
  • Supporting cash recycling and treasury operations

This part of the job requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Managing safe and counter limits
  • Preventing fraud through proper client authentication
  • Following all compliance rules, policies, and operating procedures
  • Protecting client information and ensuring every transaction is verified

By following these standards, you help safeguard the bank and its clients.
