Nedbank Invites Suitably Qualified Applicants to Apply for Their Service Consultant Vacancies. The Closing Date for Applications Is 23 January 2026.
If you enjoy helping people, working with money, and using technology to solve everyday problems, this Nedbank Service Consultant opportunity could be the right move for you. Nedbank is looking for motivated and customer-focused individuals who are ready to support clients with both in-branch services and digital banking solutions. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow in the banking sector while gaining hands-on experience with clients, cash handling, and modern banking systems.
This position falls within Nedbank’s Sales and Service job family and focuses strongly on client service. It is also a FAIS-affected role, meaning professionalism, accuracy, and compliance are very important. If you have experience in retail banking or client service and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this job offers stability, learning, and long-term growth.
The main purpose of this role is to guide clients and help them use Nedbank’s digital and self-service banking options safely and confidently. As a Service Consultant, you will also handle cash transactions, assist with account services, and ensure that banking devices such as ATMs and self-service machines are working properly.
You will play a key role in making banking easier for clients. This includes showing them how to use online banking apps, helping them resolve login issues, and explaining the benefits of digital banking. At the same time, you will still provide face-to-face service for clients who need help at the counter.
Client engagement is at the heart of this role. You will meet and greet clients, manage queues, and make sure everyone is assisted in a fair and friendly way. Clients may come in with questions, complaints, or service needs, and your job will be to listen carefully and respond with care and confidence.
You will help clients download banking apps, reset passwords, and use self-service devices to print statements, request cards, or complete transactions. You will also assist clients in buying value-added services such as prepaid airtime or data using digital platforms.
Another important part of the job is building strong relationships. You will keep clients informed about the progress of their requests and make sure they feel supported from start to finish. By understanding each client’s needs, you can guide them to the right banking solutions and, where appropriate, identify sales leads and refer them to the correct departments.
In addition to client service, this role includes important operational duties. You will process cash deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and change requests by following Nedbank’s procedures. Accuracy is very important, as you will be responsible for balancing cash and reporting any differences immediately.
You will also assist with cash management in the branch. This includes loading and balancing ATMs, replenishing self-service machines, and performing basic first-line maintenance on devices when needed. Ensuring that machines are available and working helps improve the overall client experience.
Other duties include managing branch stock such as bank cards, destroying old or expired stock according to reports, and preparing transaction documents for courier handover. You will also help prioritise clients with special needs and ensure that queues move smoothly.
Nedbank places a strong focus on risk management and security. As a Service Consultant, you will be expected to follow all policies related to cash limits, transaction checks, and client verification. This helps prevent fraud, losses, and errors.
You must always authenticate clients correctly and follow the correct steps for every transaction. If something does not look right, you are expected to act responsibly and report it. This role requires honesty, attention to detail, and a strong sense of accountability.
Nedbank expects employees to always act in the client’s best interest. This means doing what you promise, communicating clearly, and going the extra mile when needed. You will be encouraged to work well with your team, meet service excellence goals, and continue developing your skills.
Part of your role will be to support Nedbank’s digital growth by encouraging clients to use self-service and online channels. By doing this, you help the bank operate more efficiently while giving clients more control over their banking.
To apply for this role, you need a diploma at NQF Level 6. A banking-related qualification, such as a Higher Certificate in Banking Services at NQF Level 5, will be an advantage.
You should have at least one to two years of experience in retail or banking client service. Experience with cash handling, technology, and first-line problem solving is important. Any experience with foreign exchange services will be beneficial.
This role suits someone who enjoys working with people and learning new things. You should have good customer service skills, basic product knowledge, and the ability to solve problems calmly. Building trust with clients and working well with colleagues are key parts of the job.
You must be able to manage your workload, adapt to change, and stay calm under pressure. Nedbank also values employees who are open to continuous learning and personal growth.
A Service Consultant role at Nedbank offers more than just a job. It provides valuable banking experience, exposure to digital finance, and the chance to build a long-term career in a respected financial institution. If you are ready to grow, learn, and make a difference in clients’ lives, this opportunity is worth serious consideration.
Applications close on 23 January 2026, so interested candidates are encouraged to apply before the closing date.
