NTK Distribution Centre invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Picker Vacancy. The closing date for applications is 01 December 2025. If you have been looking for a stable job where your hard work really counts, this role may be a great fit for you.
The VKB Group, which NTK forms part of, is widely known across South Africa for helping shape the food and agriculture industry. Many people don’t always see what happens behind the scenes to get food from farms to supermarkets, but VKB Group is one of the companies making that possible.
For decades, the VKB Group has been supporting farmers, managing food production, and helping deliver safe and fresh products to communities. The company has grown from simply supplying farming basics to becoming an important player in almost every part of the food supply chain. Today, the group works in many areas, including processing raw products, packing, logistics, and handling both local and international market channels.
Because of this long history, VKB has developed a strong network of brands such as VKB, GWK, and NTK. These brands work together to serve farmers and customers while building what they call a “house of brands.” This system allows them to strengthen the future of agriculture and prepare young people for long-term careers in the sector.
Working as a Picker at NTK Distribution Centre is more than just moving stock from one place to another. It is a role that helps the entire supply chain run smoothly. Every supermarket shelf, every shop, and every customer depends on the accuracy and speed of pickers in centres like NTK.
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys physical work, working independently, and helping keep operations flowing. Many people who entered the VKB Group through entry-level roles have grown into long-term employees because of the supportive environment and opportunities to learn.
Before applying, make sure you meet the following basic requirements:
Even though these requirements may seem simple, they are important in helping NTK ensure that employees can perform the job safely and correctly.
Your main responsibilities will include:

You will help receive new stock coming into the centre and prepare items that need to be sent out to other places.
Keeping track of stock levels, checking items, reporting any shortages, and helping keep everything organised.
If you have a forklift licence, you will operate a forklift to move heavier items safely.
You will also carry items manually, up to a maximum of 15kg, so being physically fit is important.
You will do well in this role if you are:
VKB Group reserves the right to withdraw or close job adverts at any time. They also follow strict employment equity rules and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
When applying on their career portal, remember:
