What You’ll Do as a Pedros Barista

As a Barista at Pedros, your main goal will be to create a welcoming experience for every customer. You’ll be responsible for preparing delicious coffee and beverages while keeping the work area clean, neat, and professional. Here’s what your daily routine could look like:

Prepare and serve a range of hot drinks, including espresso-based coffees, teas, and specialty beverages.
Follow all recipes and techniques carefully to ensure consistent taste and quality.
Keep the coffee station spotless by maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Greet every customer and coworker with a smile and a positive attitude, creating a friendly and enjoyable environment.
Keep an eye on coffee stock levels and let your supervisor know when it’s time to restock supplies.
Use espresso machines, grinders, and other professional coffee equipment safely and effectively.
Perform regular cleaning and basic maintenance of coffee machines to keep them in perfect working order.
Follow all food safety and health regulations to maintain a safe and compliant workspace.
Report any machine or equipment issues immediately to the Facilities or Kitchen Supervisor to avoid interruptions in service.

What Pedros is Looking For

To qualify for this role, you’ll need a passion for great coffee and a strong sense of customer service. The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

A Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
1–2 years of experience working as a Barista (preferred but not essential if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn).
Practical experience using professional coffee machines and grinders.
Basic understanding or certification in food hygiene (this will be an advantage).
