What You’ll Be Doing in This Job

As a Control Room Operator at PEP, you will:

• Watch over all PEP stores using live camera feeds and other security systems.
• Respond quickly to any suspicious activity or incidents.
• Report problems or security events to the right people.
• Make sure the systems work well at all times.
• Act as a shift leader, helping your team stay on track and focused.

What You Need to Qualify

To be a good fit for this role, PEP is looking for someone who has:

• Grade 12 certificate (Matric)
• PSIRA Grade C registration
• A qualification in security operations (this is not a must, but it helps)
• 3–5 years of experience in a Control Room environment
• Experience using different security systems like:
  • Texecom systems (Wintex, Maintex)
  • Hikvision IVMS
  • Patriot systems
• Good computer skills (Microsoft and Google Office tools)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stay calm in stressful or emotional situations
• A high level of emotional intelligence
• Knowledge of how to manage incidents
• Willing to work in shifts, including nights and weekends
