About the PG Bison Apprenticeship 2025

The PG Bison Apprenticeship Programme is designed to help young people build strong technical skills and gain valuable work experience.

Successful applicants will receive intensive on-the-job training, complete FP&M SETA-accredited theoretical modules, and gain practical experience in plant operations, maintenance, and installations.

This programme gives you the chance to learn, grow, and become work-ready, even if you have no prior experience. It is ideal for individuals who are passionate about problem-solving, enjoy working with their hands, and want to build a long-term career in the engineering field.

Trades Available in the Programme

PG Bison is offering training in a variety of trades. Applicants can specialize in one of the following areas:

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the PG Bison Apprenticeship, you must meet these basic requirements:

Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science OR
N3 qualification with Maths and Science (N4 will be an added advantage).
No previous work experience needed – this is an opportunity to learn from scratch.
A strong interest in technical work and problem-solving.
Good teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities During the Apprenticeship

Once accepted into the programme, you will be expected to:

Complete all FP&M SETA theoretical modules for your chosen trade.

Attend and participate in all learning sessions and study periods.
Receive hands-on training in plant operations and maintenance.
Work on problem-solving and troubleshooting tasks in real workplace situations.
Assist in maintenance and installations, ensuring plant equipment runs smoothly and reliably.
Sign and commit to an 18-month apprenticeship contract with PG Bison and FP&M SETA.
