Postbank Customer Service Consultant vacancies (X6 Posts)

Postbank invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Customer Service Consultant vacancies (X6 Posts). These positions are offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract. If you enjoy talking to people, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced contact centre environment, this opportunity may be the perfect way to build your future in the banking world.

Postbank is searching for individuals who feel confident on the phone and who truly enjoy helping others. As one of South Africa’s long-standing financial institutions, Postbank serves millions of customers every day, which means strong communication and customer care skills are highly valued. If you want to join a respected organisation and gain hands-on experience in a professional contact centre environment, these roles are worth paying close attention to.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

Many job seekers overlook contact centre roles, but at Postbank, this position is more than just answering calls. As a Customer Service Consultant, you will be the first point of contact for customers seeking help with their banking needs. You will act as the voice of the bank, guiding clients, answering urgent questions, and helping them feel confident and supported. This role also gives you the chance to learn more about the banking industry, understand customer behaviour, and become familiar with professional customer service standards.

Because these positions fall under the Inbound Contact Centre, you don’t need to go looking for customers—customers call you. This makes it a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys structured work and prefers assisting people directly rather than selling products.

What You Will Be Doing Daily

The main purpose of the Customer Service Consultant role is to handle incoming calls and assist customers in a helpful and professional way. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Answering incoming calls quickly and professionally.
  • Resolving questions, concerns, and complaints based on Postbank rules and procedures.
  • Keeping to important call centre targets such as call handling times, call waiting limits, and answering service levels.
  • Providing friendly, patient, and efficient service to all callers.
  • Logging and escalating issues when you notice potential risks or irregularities.
  • Following TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) principles at all times.
  • Maintaining high-quality standards in every call and ensuring compliance with Postbank policies.

These duties require someone who can stay calm during busy moments, work with different types of customers, and make clear decisions while speaking to callers.

Minimum Requirements You Must Meet

To qualify for one of these six available positions, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in an Inbound Contact Centre environment.
  • Basic computer literacy, especially MS Office.

These requirements ensure that the consultant is familiar with customer service processes and has enough experience to handle different types of calls professionally.

Skills and Knowledge That Will Help You Succeed

Postbank is looking for candidates who are confident, professional, and able to communicate clearly. You must have:

  • A strong understanding of call centre telephony systems.
  • Fluency in English, with any extra languages being a bonus.
  • Knowledge of customer service processes and TCF principles.
  • A proactive approach to work, meaning you don’t wait to be told what to do—you take responsibility.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to think clearly under pressure.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

These abilities help you provide strong customer service and make sure callers receive the correct guidance quickly and politely.

Why Working at Postbank Is Valuable

Postbank is known for being one of South Africa’s most accessible banking institutions. It plays an important role in financial inclusion, offering affordable and safe banking services to communities across the country. Working at the Postbank Contact Centre gives you hands-on experience in the banking sector, opens doors to future opportunities, and allows you to build communication skills that are important in every industry.

You will work with a team of professionals who understand customer needs and who value service excellence. You will also get the chance to grow your confidence, learn more about banking processes, and handle real customer situations that help you expand your skills.

How to Apply

If you meet the requirements and want to be considered for one of the six positions, send your CV to the Postbank recruitment team.

Email your CV to: RecruitmentSN@postbank.co.za

Important:
In the subject line of your email, clearly state:
Customer Service Consultant – 2025

Since the closing date is not specified, it is best to apply as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
