SANPARKS – Field Assistant (Meerkat National Park)

A position for a Field Assistant on a fixed-term contract up to the end of March 2027 (renewable on mutual agreement) is available at Meerkat National Park.

The Salary is on a B4 band, R 11 260.24 Salary + R 2 310.58 housing as the incumbent will be staying outside the Park.

Requirements

Grade 12 certificate / Senior Certificate
Code 10 driver’s license with PrDP
Computer Literacy in MS Office
2 Years’ experience with contracting teams/management of personnel
Valid Health & Safety Certificate
Experience in rehabilitation techniques and invasive alien plant clearing is essential for this position

Responsibilities

Assist with project-related planning
Assist with the management and mentoring of EPWP contract
Ensure the management of quality, production and monitoring of task-based operations linked to the project
Ensure compliance with program standards/norms and Health and Safety requirements
Assist with mapping and data recording for the project linked to activities
Assist with administrative tasks
Report on project progress
Communicate and liaise with relevant stakeholders
