Sasol invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their 2025 Welding Apprenticeship Programme Vacancies. The closing date for applications is 09 June 2025.

Sasol, in partnership with PDPS, is now offering young people the chance to join their 2025 Welding Apprenticeship Programme. This is a rare opportunity to get trained by one of South Africa’s biggest energy companies and learn skills that can lead to real, long-term jobs.

This apprenticeship is perfect for young people who live in the Govan Mbeki, Lekwa, or Dipaleseng Municipalities, and who want to build a career in welding. If you’re determined, hardworking, and meet the school subject requirements, you might be exactly who they’re looking for.

What Is This Welding Apprenticeship All About?

The Sasol Welding Apprenticeship Programme is a hands-on training opportunity. You’ll learn real skills in welding from experts in the industry while being part of a structured training environment. This is not just another short course—it’s a professional apprenticeship that can open doors to employment in the engineering and manufacturing world.

You will:

  • Work on real projects and gain practical experience
  • Receive expert guidance and training

Who Can Apply? These Are the Must-Haves

Before you send your application, make sure you meet all the requirements listed below. These are not optional—they’re must-haves:

✅ Where You Live:

You must live in one of the following municipalities:

  • Govan Mbeki Municipality
  • Lekwa Municipality
  • Dipaleseng Municipality

✅ Education Requirements:

You must have passed:

  • Engineering Mathematics N3
  • Engineering Science N3
  • English (NCV Level 4) or First Additional Language (NCV Level 4)
  • Mathematics Level 4 (pure trade-related Mathematics, not Mathematical Literacy – this will be an advantage)
  • Engineering Science (L4), including:
    • Engineering Processes L4
    • Professional Engineering Practice L4
    • Applied Engineering Technology L4
  • Welding/Platers Theory (this trade-related subject is a must)

Important Things to Know

  • You cannot apply if you are currently part of another training programme.
  • You must email your application. No manual hand-delivered CVs will be accepted by PDPS.

Make sure your application includes the correct reference number: 2025 Welding.

Documents You Must Email:

  • Your certified CV
  • A certified copy of your ID
  • Certified qualifications and school reports
  • Driver’s license (if you have one)
  • Water and lights bill to show your current address
  • If the bill is not in your name: An affidavit from you and the landlord, certified by SAPS, showing how long you’ve stayed at that address and who owns the property
  • Your SARS confirmation letter showing your current address
  • A bank statement showing your current residential address
