What You Will Do During the Internship

If selected, you will:

• Learn by working in a real mining environment.
• Complete a structured 42-month learning programme.
• Present key learnings after every phase of the programme to Seriti’s management.
• Take on a major project in your second year and present it when done.
• Attend courses, workshops, and seminars to improve your skills.
• Step into different roles within the rock engineering discipline when needed.
• Research and suggest improvement projects for the company.
• Work closely with experienced mentors and technical coaches who will guide your professional growth.

Who Can Apply?

Internal Applicants

If you already work in mining or have some mining-related knowledge, you could be considered under recognition of prior learning. You will stand out if you:

• Have experience in mining production, geology, or mine planning.
• Hold or are busy with a Strata Control Certificate in Coal.
• Have strong references from past employers or schools.
• Completed mining-related academic projects.
• Have a valid driver’s license and Certificate of Fitness (or be able to get one).
• Can write well, stay organised, and use MS Office.

External Applicants

If you’re applying from outside Seriti, you must have one of the following qualifications:

• BSc Engineering (Mining), OR
• BSc Geology (Hons), OR
• BEng Tech (Hons).

You should also:

• Have proven project and academic experience in your field.
• Be a strong communicator and confident writer.
• Be motivated, eager to learn, and ready to work.
• Have a valid driver’s license and Certificate of Fitness (or able to get one).

Extra Points for Both Groups

You will have an advantage if you:

• Already have some temporary work experience in mining.
• Understand Seriti’s company values and operational practices.
