Services SETA invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Cleaner vacancies. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are hardworking, organized, and committed to keeping workplaces clean and welcoming. The closing date for applications is 28 November 2025. If you are looking for a reliable job in a professional environment where your efforts truly matter, this role could be the perfect fit.

A Job That Makes a Real Difference Every Day

Clean and well-maintained office spaces help employees work better, set a positive impression for visitors, and support smooth operations in any workplace. At Services SETA, the Cleaner plays a valuable role in ensuring that offices, boardrooms, hallways, and shared spaces stay neat, safe, and ready for use at all times. This is not just ordinary cleaning work. It is a role that supports the entire organization and helps create a professional and pleasant workplace environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Workers in this position will handle daily cleaning tasks and assist in maintaining a hygienic and orderly workplace. These tasks require responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and efficiently.

Maintaining Daily Cleaning Schedules

Services SETA uses structured cleaning plans to make sure all areas are cleaned regularly. As a Cleaner, you will:

  • Follow and complete the assigned cleaning schedules
  • Fill in cleaning rosters to show which tasks have been completed
  • Move through different areas and ensure no sections are missed

This ensures that cleaning happens consistently and that duties are completed on time.

Cleaning Offices and Common Areas

A large part of the job includes making sure that working spaces look good and feel comfortable. This includes:

  • Cleaning floors by sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping
  • Dusting desks, partitions, furniture, and equipment
  • Cleaning and disinfecting sinks, toilets, mirrors, countertops, and other surfaces
  • Washing walls, windows, doors, sills, and woodwork
  • Cleaning rugs, carpets, and other upholstery
  • Emptying bins and making sure waste is taken to designated collection points

These tasks help maintain a workplace that is presentable, clean, and pleasant for staff and visitors.

Taking Care of Cleaning Equipment

Tools and supplies are needed to keep work areas well maintained. As a Cleaner, you will:

  • Keep cleaning equipment in good working condition
  • Check that all the necessary materials are available
  • Inform the manager if something needs repair or replacement

This helps prevent delays and ensures that cleaning can continue smoothly.

Welcoming Visitors When Required

Another part of the role involves welcoming visitors professionally. This includes:

  • Greeting guests politely
  • Offering beverages when appropriate
  • Ensuring that visitors are comfortable

Cleaners may also help in serving drinks to both staff and guests, especially during meetings or scheduled gatherings.

Supporting Administrative Tasks

Services SETA may request additional support beyond cleaning duties. From time to time, you may assist with administrative work such as:

  • Binding, copying, or faxing documents
  • Helping with mail distribution
  • Performing small support duties based on service level agreements

This shows flexibility and a willingness to support the team where needed.

Managing Supplies and Inventory

Keeping track of supplies is an important part of this role because cleaning cannot happen without the right materials. Duties include:

  • Replenishing bathroom supplies
  • Ensuring tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and other beverage items are available
  • Monitoring general cleaning equipment like cloths, dusters, and polish
  • Reporting to the Provincial Manager or Senior Officer when stock is low
  • Conducting weekly or monthly stock checks for items like cups, cleaning tools, and cutlery

This helps make sure that supplies never run out and that the workplace stays efficiently managed.

Contributing to Department Improvement

Services SETA values teamwork and aims to create a workplace environment where everyone can perform their best. Cleaners play a role in this by:

  • Supporting all units in keeping the environment neat and safe
  • Making sure spaces are healthy and ready for use
  • Helping the organization function smoothly

A cleaner’s work may seem behind the scenes, but it has a direct impact on how well everyone else performs.

What You Need to Qualify

Minimum Education

Applicants should have:

  • Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification

Experience

Experience in corporate housekeeping is an advantage, but individuals who are willing to learn and show dedication will also be considered.

A Great Opportunity for Dedicated Workers

The Cleaner position at Services SETA is a solid opportunity for individuals who want stable employment in a respectful working environment. If you take pride in your work, enjoy keeping spaces neat, and are ready to contribute to a professional environment, be sure to submit your application before 28 November 2025 and move one step closer to a promising career.
