Position Overview: Shop Assistant Cashier

Key Responsibilities:

As a Shop Assistant Cashier at Clicks, your main responsibilities will include:

• Efficient POS Operations: Handle all point of sale operations promptly and accurately, ensuring smooth transactions.
• Merchandising: Assist with in-store merchandising and housekeeping duties to maintain store standards.
• Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service, promote the Clicks ClubCard, and enroll new members to meet participation targets.
• Promotion Awareness: Inform customers about ongoing promotions to boost sales and enhance their shopping experience.
• Cash Handling: Ensure the safe handling of cash at all times, maintaining accuracy when scanning merchandise and collecting payments.
• Brand Ambassador: Represent the Clicks brand by offering friendly, professional service and supporting the company’s values.

What You Need to Succeed:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following skills and qualifications:

Knowledge:

• Basic maths for accurate calculations.
• Understanding of retail/FMCG operations, including merchandising and promotions.
• Familiarity with stock management and customer service excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: A Grade 12 certificate is essential. Achieving at least 50% in Maths and English at Grade 12 level is desirable.
• Experience: While not mandatory, experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG environment is beneficial.
