What You Will Be Doing

As a Shoprite Customer Service Agent, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering outstanding service to every customer who contacts the company.
  • Handling incoming calls, responding to questions, and resolving issues quickly and effectively.
  • Providing accurate information about products, services, and promotions.
  • Acting fast in urgent or emergency situations to support customers.
  • Escalating customer concerns when necessary and giving updates until the issue is resolved.
  • Staying up to date with Shoprite’s products, campaigns, policies, and service requirements.
  • Working hard to ensure customers are happy so that they continue choosing Shoprite.
  • Following all company policies and suggesting improvements when things can be done better.
  • Assisting teammates whenever possible, such as helping with language barriers or sharing knowledge.
  • Taking responsibility for continuous personal growth and development in customer service.

This role is shift-based, meaning you will work 45 hours per week across any five days from Monday to Sunday, including public holidays. It’s a dynamic environment, so flexibility and teamwork are key.


Who Can Apply

To be considered for this role, candidates need to meet the following requirements:

Essential Requirements:

  • A Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a customer service environment or a similar role.
  • Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint Online.

Beneficial (but not required):

  • A diploma, degree, or certificate in communications or a related field.
  • Experience in retail or working in a contact centre environment.
