What You’ll Be Doing as a Shop Assistant

As a Shop Assistant, your main job is to create a welcoming and exciting shopping experience for every customer who walks through the door. But that’s not all — here’s what your day-to-day work might look like:

Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional way
Talk to customers about promotions, discounts, and special offers
Recommend products by doing makeovers, using testers, and sharing product knowledge
Encourage customers to sign up for the Loyalty Card and explain its benefits
Keep the shelves stocked and tidy — making sure everything looks clean and well-organized
Take part in daily meetings, floor walks, and raise any ideas or concerns with your supervisor
Assist with stock counts, stock rotation, and following correct storage methods (FIFO method)
Help with monthly promotions and ensure displays and signage are always up-to-date
Ensure the point-of-sale (POS) system is handled correctly
Follow all company procedures when handling money, doing banking, and wearing staff uniforms
Support marketing campaigns like Pop-Up Stores, Sidewalk Sales, and Centre Court Promotions
Make sure customers have a great experience — from greeting them to saying goodbye

What Signature Cosmetics is Looking For

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you’ll need to meet these basic requirements:

Matric / Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
At least 1 year of experience in a retail environment
Bonus if you’ve worked with beauty, skincare, or fragrance products
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and handling a Point-of-Sale system (POS)
Friendly, well-spoken, and customer-focused
Able to work in a team and follow instructions
Reliable, organized, and willing to learn new things
Able to attend team meetings and complete on-the-job training
Available to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed
