SIQALO Foods Is Looking for Quality Inservice Trainees!

SIQALO Foods is inviting applications for 4 Quality Inservice Trainee positions based in Boksburg. If you’re passionate about learning and want a practical role in quality assurance at a food company, this exciting opportunity is for you! The deadline to apply is 18 November 2025.

This role gives you a chance to learn while working. You will train under experienced quality coordinators to make sure that all the products meet the right standards before they reach consumers. What Does a Quality Inservice Trainee Do?

As a Quality Inservice Trainee, your main role will be to support the quality lab and production sites by following strict testing and evaluation procedures. You’ll be responsible for helping to check that food products are safe, high quality, and made according to company and industry standards.

Under the guidance of the QA Coordinator Inbound, you will assist with lab tests, inspections, and keeping records of your findings. You’ll also learn how to use specialized tools and equipment to analyze samples and check production lines.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply Quality Management Systems, company policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare samples of finished goods for sensory evaluation like taste and appearance.
  • Use aseptic sampling techniques to prevent contamination.
  • Sample and test packaging materials to ensure they meet the right quality.
  • Store blends and finished goods samples properly during their shelf life.
  • Perform testing on raw materials, products in progress, and finished goods using ISO-approved methods.
  • Conduct physical line inspections to check finished products.
  • Help with internal quality assessments and report results clearly.
  • Test blends (such as PV, FFA and N-lines and finished goods (measuring things like salt, pH, moisture, and others).
  • Calibrate and check lab equipment daily to keep them working correctly.
  • Monitor cleaning processes (CIP) after production to make sure everything is hygienic.
  • Approve product release only after confirming production lines meet cleaning and quality standards.
  • Report any test results that don’t meet specifications and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Keep detailed records of lab analysis, sensory checks, and inspections.
  • Raise official reports (NCA/QEWO) for any products or processes that don’t conform to standards.
  • Follow laboratory safety rules and good laboratory practice (GLP).
  • Support product investigations and traceability checks when issues arise.
  • Join safety meetings regularly and prepare awareness presentations.
  • Take part in continuous improvement activities, like internal audits, mock recalls, taste panels, and project teams.

What You Need to Qualify

  • A National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, Food Technology, or Biotechnology.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools like gas chromatography (GC), pH meters, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR
  • ), and other lab equipment.
  • Understanding of acid-base titrations, gravimetric tests, and related lab techniques.
  • Completion of Level 4 or 5 theory studies.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow steps carefully.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate clearly.
