If you’re between the ages of 18 and 34, not studying full-time, and currently unemployed, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Solareff is offering a 12-month Youth Employment Service (YES) Learnership in their Finance Department, giving you the chance to gain real work experience in the business world. But act quickly—applications close on 11 July 2025!
What Is the Solareff YES Learnership?
This is your chance to get your foot in the door.
The Solareff YES Learnership is a 12-month fixed-term job opportunity where selected candidates will work inside the Finance team and perform daily admin and accounting support duties. The programme is part of the YES initiative, a government-backed plan to give young South Africans real work experience and fight youth unemployment.
While it’s not a formal training course or internship that leads to a qualification, the experience you’ll get here is priceless. You’ll be doing actual work and learning skills that can help you find a permanent job in the future.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the Solareff YES Learnership, you must meet the following requirements:
- South African citizen aged between 18 and 34 years old
- Must have Grade 12 (Matric); post-matric qualifications will help, but are not required
- Must not be employed permanently by any company for longer than 12 months
- Must not be studying full-time during the year of the programme
- Must not have taken part in the YES initiative before
- Must be good with numbers, accurate, and pay attention to detail
- Must be able to work well in a team
- Must be comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
If this sounds like you, then you’re encouraged to apply.
What Will You Do?

This isn’t about making coffee or filing papers all day — you’ll be part of a real team, doing real work, and learning valuable skills.
Why Should You Apply?
This programme doesn’t offer a certificate or diploma, but the experience is real and valuable. You will:
- Gain practical experience in the finance field
- Work in a professional environment and build confidence
- Improve your CV for future job opportunities
- Get exposure to business systems and financial software
- Start building your professional network
This is a paid learnership, so while you work and learn, you’ll also earn a monthly stipend to help with your living costs.

Make sure your documents are ready, neat, and up to date. Here’s what you’ll need to apply:
- A copy of your South African ID
- A copy of your Matric certificate (and any other qualifications, if you have them)

Don’t Miss Out
Jobs like this don’t come around often, especially for young people who don’t yet have experience. The Solareff YES Learnership gives you a full year of work experience that can help you get noticed by future employers.
If you’ve been struggling to find your first job, this could be the beginning of your career journey. It’s a chance to prove yourself, learn something new, and earn while you grow.
