What Is the Solareff YES Learnership?

This is your chance to get your foot in the door.

The Solareff YES Learnership is a 12-month fixed-term job opportunity where selected candidates will work inside the Finance team and perform daily admin and accounting support duties. The programme is part of the YES initiative, a government-backed plan to give young South Africans real work experience and fight youth unemployment.

While it’s not a formal training course or internship that leads to a qualification, the experience you’ll get here is priceless. You’ll be doing actual work and learning skills that can help you find a permanent job in the future.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Solareff YES Learnership, you must meet the following requirements:

• South African citizen aged between 18 and 34 years old
• Must have Grade 12 (Matric); post-matric qualifications will help, but are not required
• Must not be employed permanently by any company for longer than 12 months
• Must not be studying full-time during the year of the programme
• Must not have taken part in the YES initiative before
• Must be good with numbers, accurate, and pay attention to detail
• Must be able to work well in a team
• Must be comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)

What Will You Do?

As a YES Learner in the Finance Department, you will:

• Help with day-to-day finance admin tasks
• Process invoices and credits from the procurement and supply chain departments
• Keep financial documents neat and filed for audit purposes
• Work with the cashbook and handle financial records
• Send customer statements and process invoices
• Work with credit notes and keep records up to date
• Assist with other general tasks the finance team needs help with

This isn’t about making coffee or filing papers all day — you’ll be part of a real team, doing real work, and learning valuable skills.
