South African National Parks (SANParks) Internship Programme Opportunities

South African National Parks (SANParks) invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Internship Programme Opportunities (Multiple Posts). The closing date for applications is 10 February 2026. This internship is aimed at unemployed graduates who want real workplace experience while contributing to the protection of South Africa’s natural heritage.

This is a 12-month internship programme with a monthly stipend of R6 355.69, offering young graduates a chance to gain valuable skills, confidence, and exposure in a respected public institution. While SANParks is not obligated to offer permanent employment after completion, the experience gained can significantly improve future job prospects.

Applicants must be residents of the Eastern Cape Province. Candidates who apply from outside their immediate area must be prepared to arrange their own accommodation and transport, as the internship provides a stipend and not housing or travel support.


Who Can Apply for the SANParks Internship Programme

This programme is specifically designed for young graduates who have not yet had the opportunity to gain workplace experience. To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be an unemployed graduate between the ages of 18 and 35
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Have completed a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF 6 or NQF 7)
  • Qualification must be obtained from a South African Public Higher Education Institution
  • Must not have previously worked or participated in any internship or placement programme
  • Must currently reside in the Eastern Cape Province

These requirements are strict, and applicants who do not meet them may not be considered.


What the Internship Offers You

This internship is designed to help graduates transition from studying to working life. During the 12-month period, interns will:

  • Gain hands-on workplace experience
  • Learn professional conduct and teamwork
  • Develop practical and administrative skills
  • Understand how SANParks operates as a public entity
  • Strengthen their CV with recognised work experience

Interns will receive a monthly stipend of R6 355.69, which helps cover basic living costs during the programme.
