South African Police Services (SAPS) Hiring: Security Officers (X43 Posts)

Requirements:

• Must display competency in post-specific core functions
• Fluency in at least two official languages, one of which must be English
• South African citizenship
• No previous criminal/departmental convictions or pending cases

• Will undergo vetting, security screening, and fingerprint verification
• Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (NQF level 4)
• PSIRA registration with at least a Grade C security certificate or higher
• No unfitness declaration to possess a firearm

• Willing to undergo and maintain firearm competency
• Advantage: Degree/Diploma in security, relevant security courses, valid driver’s license
• Willing to work shifts and extended hours

Duties:

• Execute Access Control as per the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act
• Positive identification and registration of employees, visitors, and contractors
• Authorize entry to premises after complying with legislative requirements
• Issue and collect admission control cards to visitors

• Check suppliers, articles, and objects to ensure the safety of premises
• Patrol buildings and fenced areas, guard vehicles and equipment
• Report security issues to senior personnel
