π― Job Overview:
As a Baker, youβll be responsible for producing quality yeast-based bakery items according to production plans. Youβll also ensure proper hygiene, manage ingredients, and oversee support staff to help maintain SPARβs high standards.
π₯ Key Responsibilities:
- Follow cyclical production plans to meet daily targets
- Bake a variety of yeast-based products (bread, rolls, etc.)
- Control ingredient usage and minimize waste
- Manage stock levels efficiently
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the baking area
- Supervise and guide bakery staff
- Provide excellent customer service when needed
β Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / NQF Level 4 or equivalent
- Formal qualification in yeast-based baking
- Minimum 3 years baking experience in a professional bakery
π Required Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of baking products and ingredients
- Knowledge of the production and cold chain processes
- Competent in operating bakery equipment
- Familiar with supervisory duties and health & safety standards
- Awareness of current bakery trends and customer preferences
