What You’ll Do as a Control Room Operator

This is not a security guard job — it’s much more than that. As a Control Room Operator at Sun City, you’ll be the main link between transport operations, staff, and guests. You will make sure that transport services across the resort and surrounding areas run smoothly, on time, and safely.

Here’s what your daily responsibilities will look like:

• Check transport schedules, arrivals, and departures daily
• Record booking requests and manage spreadsheets for smooth service
• Share booking information with all relevant resort departments
• Monitor bus stops to check guest volumes and wait times
• Use a radio and monitor screens to dispatch drivers on time
• Answer calls and solve transport-related queries quickly
• Report technical issues and equipment faults to management
• Watch surveillance footage and give feedback on any incidents
• Keep a close eye on security camera feeds at transport points
• Pass along important info during shift handovers for smooth operation
• Report and record all incidents and accidents as they happen
• Keep organized manual and electronic records of all bookings
• Handle confidential information with care

What You’ll Need to Apply

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

Education:

• Matric (Grade 12) – This is a must.

Experience:

• 5 years of working in a control room or call centre environment
• Experience in transportation coordination is a plus

Skills:

• Clear communication (both written and spoken)
• Strong telephone skills
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
• Good at organizing and coordinating resources
• Basic administration and filing skills
• Emotionally mature and able to stay calm during busy times
• Excellent at following rules, policies, and safety guidelines
• Proficient in MS Office and able to handle digital systems
