Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Community Health Worker, your daily duties may include:

  • Supporting digital stethoscope assessments to record lung sounds
  • Assisting with participant recruitment
  • Explaining the study and helping participants complete informed consent
  • Collecting health information using electronic data collection systems
  • Administering participant questionnaires
  • Working closely with digital X-ray screening teams
  • Identifying individuals who qualify for the study
  • Following up with participants who test positive for tuberculosis
  • Coordinating clinic appointments and home visits
  • Travelling throughout the district to various healthcare locations
  • Ensuring study records are accurate and complete
  • Performing routine quality checks on collected information

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • At least one year of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Community health
    • Participant recruitment

    • Related healthcare fields
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the district
  • Basic knowledge of smartphones, tablets, or electronic data collection systems
  • Valid driver’s licence
