What’s the TotalEnergies Trainee Programme About?

Sometimes, when employees leave or move around, companies need to fill up important roles quickly. That’s why TotalEnergies created this special program. The aim is to help fresh graduates learn different parts of the company while getting trained for future job roles.

You’ll go through a 2-year training journey, where you’ll rotate between different teams. You won’t just sit behind a desk—you’ll be learning from experienced workers, working on real projects, and building skills that will help you in your future career.

This isn’t just a job. It’s a full experience designed to grow your confidence, teach you problem-solving, and improve your thinking. You’ll be guided by mentors and get feedback to help you improve every step of the way.


What Will You Be Doing?

Here’s what your training will include:

  • Learning technical and soft skills through dedicated training modules
  • Rotating through several departments within TotalEnergies South Africa (TMSA)
  • Shadowing experienced employees to understand their day-to-day work
  • Joining mentorship programs and gaining hands-on knowledge
  • Working on actual projects that need real solutions
  • Collaborating with people from other teams to come up with smart ideas
  • Sharing your opinions and suggestions during discussions
  • Getting constant feedback from your mentors and managers
  • Showing eagerness to learn, improve, and be part of a team

Health and Safety Comes First

TotalEnergies takes Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) very seriously. During your training, you’ll also learn how to:

  • Follow all health and safety rules, legal guidelines, and company policies
  • Promote safe working habits in your team
  • Help reduce risks and contribute to the company’s safety goals
  • Make sure everyone working with you is trained in safety

Who Can Apply?

To apply for this training opportunity, you must meet these requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Matric certificate (Grade 12)
  • A BTech or Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electromechanical Engineering
    • Finance or Accounting (or an NQF 5 qualification in Accounting Technician)
  • Willingness to relocate if needed

Skills Needed:

  • 0–5 years of work experience
  • Good academic results
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to speak and write clearly
  • Curious, eager to learn, and passionate about self-growth
  • Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
