Lephalale Municipality invites suitable applicants to apply for their 2025 Traffic Officer Training Programme. The closing date for applications is 01 July 2025. If you live in Limpopo and want a real shot at a government job – this is your chance.
Are you a young South African looking for a career that matters? Do you want to help keep our roads safe while working in a respected government job? The Lephalale Municipality has just opened applications for their Traffic Officer Training Programme 2025. This programme is more than just training – it’s your chance to build a future, earn a qualification, and possibly land a permanent job as a traffic officer.
This is a government-funded learnership that trains young people to become traffic officers. Once you’re accepted, you’ll get hands-on training at an official training centre approved by the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC). You’ll study towards the Further Education and Training Certificate in Road Traffic Law Enforcement (NQF Level 4) – a nationally recognized qualification.
You’ll not only sit in classrooms – you’ll get real-life experience too. The programme includes practical work, physical training, and field simulations. When you complete the training successfully, you’ll be qualified to work as a traffic officer in municipalities or even provincial departments – depending on available jobs and how well you do.
To qualify, you must meet these basic requirements:
You should also be willing to take part in physical training, pass tests, and go through background checks.

South Africa has a major road safety problem. By training young people to become professional traffic officers, the Lephalale Municipality is doing something powerful. They’re investing in the future – helping youth get skills, jobs, and a chance to serve their community.
If you’ve ever dreamed of working in law enforcement, protecting lives, and wearing a respected uniform – this could be the beginning of your journey.
