Lephalale Municipality invites suitable applicants to apply for their 2025 Traffic Officer Training Programme. The closing date for applications is 01 July 2025. If you live in Limpopo and want a real shot at a government job – this is your chance.

Are you a young South African looking for a career that matters? Do you want to help keep our roads safe while working in a respected government job? The Lephalale Municipality has just opened applications for their Traffic Officer Training Programme 2025. This programme is more than just training – it’s your chance to build a future, earn a qualification, and possibly land a permanent job as a traffic officer.

What Is the Lephalale Traffic Officer Training Programme?

This is a government-funded learnership that trains young people to become traffic officers. Once you’re accepted, you’ll get hands-on training at an official training centre approved by the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC). You’ll study towards the Further Education and Training Certificate in Road Traffic Law Enforcement (NQF Level 4) – a nationally recognized qualification.

You’ll not only sit in classrooms – you’ll get real-life experience too. The programme includes practical work, physical training, and field simulations. When you complete the training successfully, you’ll be qualified to work as a traffic officer in municipalities or even provincial departments – depending on available jobs and how well you do.

What You’ll Get:

  • National Qualification (NQF Level 4) in Road Traffic Law Enforcement
  • Monthly Stipend during training (around R100,000 per year)
  • Job Opportunities – Top performers could get permanent jobs with the municipality or other government departments
  • Career Growth – After qualifying, you can specialize in accident investigations, driver safety education, or vehicle inspections

Who Can Apply?

To qualify, you must meet these basic requirements:

  • Have Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Have a valid manual driver’s license (Code B)
  • Have no criminal record
  • Be physically fit
  • Have good moral character
  • Live in or around Lephalale Local Municipality (preferred)

You should also be willing to take part in physical training, pass tests, and go through background checks.

How To Apply

Get your documents ready! Here’s what you need:

  • A completed Lephalale Municipality Employment Application Form
  • A signed cover letter addressed to the Municipal Manager
  • Your CV with your contact details
  • Certified copies of your ID, Matric certificate, and driver’s license
  • A proof of residence (such as a municipal bill or affidavit)

Where to deliver your application:

Municipal Manager
Lephalale Municipality
Private Bag X136
Lephalale, 0555
OR hand-deliver to: Records Office, Civic Centre, Corner Joe Slovo and Douwater, Onverwacht

⚠️ No emailed or faxed applications will be accepted. If your documents are incomplete, your application will be rejected automatically.

If you don’t hear from them within 90 days after the closing date, assume your application was not successful.

Why This Programme Matters

South Africa has a major road safety problem. By training young people to become professional traffic officers, the Lephalale Municipality is doing something powerful. They’re investing in the future – helping youth get skills, jobs, and a chance to serve their community.

If you’ve ever dreamed of working in law enforcement, protecting lives, and wearing a respected uniform – this could be the beginning of your journey.

But don’t wait! Opportunities like this don’t come often. Apply before 01 July 2025 and take your first step toward a secure government career.
