Job Purpose

What You Will Be Doing (Job Tasks)

Checking the condition of containers before and after loading
Monitoring refrigerated containers (reefers)
Opening and closing rail wagons using twist-locks
Loading, off-loading, and securing cargo properly
Hooking and unhooking cargo
Covering and uncovering cargo (tarping/untarping)
Placing and removing wooden support (dunnage)
Cleaning areas such as workshops, trains, offices, sheds, and bathrooms
Filling in reports when incidents happen
Making sure the right tools and gear are used during handling operations

This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to follow safety rules and procedures.
