TWK Agri Invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Workshop Assistant Vacancies (Multiple Posts). The closing date for applications is 30 January 2026.
If you enjoy working with your hands, have an interest in machines, and want to learn more about how tractors and farming equipment are repaired, this could be a great opportunity for you. TWK Agri is looking for a Workshop Assistant to join their Trade Division in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. This job is ideal for someone who wants to gain experience in an agricultural workshop and grow step by step in a technical working environment.
This is a practical job where you will support technicians, keep the workshop clean and organised, and learn how equipment is serviced and maintained.
TWK Agri is a well-known company that works closely with farmers and agricultural businesses across South Africa. The company supports farming by providing products, services, and technical support that help farmers keep their equipment running.
When you work at TWK Agri, you become part of a team that helps food production continue without delays. Tractors and implements must be in good condition, and workshops play a big role in making that happen. Your work, even as an assistant, helps keep the whole system moving.
This position is based at the TWK Agri workshop in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. The workshop is where tractors and farming tools are repaired, serviced, and prepared for use. It is an active space with tools, parts, and machinery, so safety and cleanliness are very important.
You will spend most of your day inside the workshop and sometimes in the yard area, helping with different tasks as needed.
As a Workshop Assistant, your main role is to support the technicians who fix and service tractors and other farming equipment. You will not be expected to do complex mechanical work, but you will help with basic tasks and learn while working.
You will help technicians with simple tasks when they are repairing or servicing tractors and implements. This may include holding tools, fetching parts, or helping prepare equipment for work.
You will clean parts and equipment before and after they are worked on. Clean parts help technicians work faster and more safely.
You will help keep tools, parts, and consumables in the right places. This makes it easier for everyone to find what they need and keeps the workshop running smoothly.
You will help clean the workshop floors, work areas, and yard spaces. A clean workshop is safer and helps prevent accidents.
You will make sure that waste is thrown away correctly, following workshop rules and safety standards.
You must follow all safety procedures and company policies. This includes wearing protective clothing and using tools properly.
Sometimes the workshop may be busy, and you may be asked to work overtime or on weekends when needed for operations.
This job is suitable for someone who wants to learn more about mechanical work and does not mind doing physical tasks. You do not need to be a qualified mechanic, but you should have interest in tools and machines.
This job can be a good starting point for people who want to build a future in technical or mechanical fields.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
You must have completed Grade 12. This helps show that you can understand instructions, safety rules, and basic technical information.
You should be able to speak clearly and understand what is being asked of you, especially when working with technicians and supervisors.
You must have a valid driver’s license. This may be needed if you are asked to move vehicles or collect items.
You must be able to listen carefully and do tasks as shown or explained to you.
This job involves standing, lifting, and moving items, so you must be able to handle manual work.
You must arrive at work on time, do your job properly, and be trustworthy.
Sometimes you will work with others, and sometimes you may be given tasks to complete on your own.
If you already like working with machines or fixing things, this will help you learn faster, but it is not required.
In this role, you will:
It is not an office job, and you should be comfortable working in a workshop environment where things can get dirty and busy.
TWK Agri supports the principles of Employment Equity and may give preference in line with their employment targets. However, all suitable and qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
The company also has the right to close or remove job adverts at any time if needed, so it is important to apply as soon as possible.
