🌱 What Is This Internship All About?
This SHE Internship Programme is designed to help young graduates gain practical experience in managing safety, health, and environmental responsibilities in a real business environment. You’ll learn how SHE standards are applied in the workplace and help the team with everyday tasks and projects.
Key Purpose of the Role:
To support the SHE department with administration, monitoring, communication, and hands-on work, while giving the intern valuable exposure to the inner workings of Unilever’s safety systems.
🛠️ What Will You Be Doing?
Here’s a look at what your daily tasks and responsibilities might include:
- Update and Review Procedures: Help make sure all SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) procedures are up to date and correctly followed.
- Assist with Risk Assessments: Work with the team to identify risks, hazards, and their impacts in different work areas.
- Support Investigations: Be part of the team that investigates incidents and looks for ways to prevent them from happening again.
- Communication: Help spread safety messages by updating notice boards, screens, and attending relevant meetings.
- Training Support: Assist the training facilitator with organizing safety training sessions for staff.
- Collect and Collate Data: Keep track of SHE statistics, reports, and important records.
- Audit Assistance: Help drive audits and checks across the workplace, including hygiene, housekeeping, first aid supplies, and inspections.
- Track Actions: Maintain trackers for activities and ensure that SHE plans are followed and deadlines are met.
- Lead 2 Key Projects: Choose two SHE-related projects that will help improve safety at Unilever and help you grow your own skills.
- Contractor Inductions: Carry out SHE inductions for contractors to make sure they understand safety rules before working onsite.
🎓 Who Can Apply?
Minimum Requirements:
- You must have completed a qualification in one of the following fields:
- Safety
- Occupational Health
- Environmental Management
- Science
- You must be able to submit proof of your qualification (certificates only – no statements of results will be accepted).
- Be passionate about safety and eager to learn in a fast-paced, professional environment.
