What You Will Do in This Role

As an apprentice at V&A Waterfront, you will be part of the Electrical Team, assisting with day-to-day operations and learning valuable skills under the guidance of a qualified electrician. Your responsibilities will cover a wide range of tasks aimed at developing your technical abilities and professional experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare for Electrical Work
    Learn to plan and prepare for wiring, connecting, testing, inspecting, commissioning, and maintaining electrical installations and control systems. You will do this under the direct supervision of experienced electricians.
  • Assist with Installations
    Observe and assist a qualified electrician in installing, wiring, and connecting electrical equipment. Over time, you will perform these tasks independently but still under supervision to ensure safety and quality.
  • Testing and Inspection
    Participate in testing and inspecting electrical equipment, installations, and control systems. You will gradually take on tasks independently while learning proper protocols.
  • Maintenance and Repairs
    Assist in the maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring all equipment and installations are functioning correctly and safely.
  • Learn Bricklaying Skills
    While mainly focused on electrical work, you may also observe and assist experienced bricklayers with construction tasks to gain broader exposure to technical skills.
  • Commissioning Electrical Systems
    Gain hands-on experience commissioning electrical installations and control systems under supervision.
