What is the YES Programme?

The YES (Youth Employment Service) Programme is a government-backed initiative that gives young South Africans valuable work experience. For one full year, you’ll work in a real retail environment, learning new skills, getting paid, and building your CV. This is a great stepping stone into permanent work or further opportunities in the retail world.

Who Can Apply?

You are between 18 and 28 years old
You have at least Grade 10 (Matric is better but not required)
You are available to work full time on a 12-month contract
You have never worked permanently for more than 12 months with one employer
You are not studying full time between April 2023 and March 2024
You have not been on the YES programme before
You can cover your own accommodation and transport if needed

TFG gives preference to people from designated groups under the Employment Equity Act. So if you’re from a previously disadvantaged background, this could be a golden opportunity just for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

If you get selected, you’ll be part of the Sneaker Factory team. This means:

Helping customers find the latest sneakers and fashion
Working with international and local shoe brands
Learning how a retail store works — from the sales floor to the stockroom
