Your Role as an Ambulance Assistant

In this vital role, you’ll be at the heart of emergency response, making a real difference in the community. Here’s what you can expect to do:

• Be Ready to Act: You’ll ensure that you’re always ready to respond quickly to emergency calls.
• Provide Patient Care: You’ll deliver essential medical assistance to patients, sticking closely to health regulations and your scope of practice.
• Represent ER24: As a part of this team, you’ll promote a professional image and build positive relationships with the public.

Qualifications You Need

To be considered, you’ll need:

• Essential: A Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate.
• Preferred: Training in Clinical Practice Guidelines as set by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). If you haven’t completed this yet, don’t worry—you can finish it during your probation period.

Experience Counts

Here’s what we’re looking for in terms of experience:

• Essential: 6 months to 1 year of road-based Basic Life Support (BLS) experience.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience in road-based BLS.
