ASSMANG Iron Ore is calling on unemployed South African youth to apply for their Engineering Learnership Programme (18.2) for the 2025/2026 intake. These learnerships are based in the Northern Cape, specifically in the Gamagara and John Taolo Gaetsewe municipal areas.
The ASSMANG Iron Ore Learnership Programme is designed to help young people build strong technical and engineering skills. Successful candidates will receive structured training and hands-on experience that will prepare them for employment in the mining and engineering sector.
This programme not only benefits the participants but also helps their families and communities by creating skilled workers who can contribute to the economy.
There are 7 learnership opportunities available in different trades. Candidates can apply for one of the following fields:
It is very important to clearly state which trade you are applying for when sending your application.
To qualify for one of these learnerships, you must meet the following requirements for each trade:
1. Instrumentation Mechanician
2. Plater / Welder
3. Fitter
4. Electrician
5. Millwright
If you do not meet these minimum requirements, your application will not be considered.

In line with ASSMANG Iron Ore’s Employment Equity Plan, preference will be given to candidates who are residents of Gamagara and John Taolo Gaetsewe municipal areas in the Northern Cape.
