A vacancy is open for a Fuel Attendant in the Tourism Department at Addo Elephant National Park. The chosen candidate will report to the Duty Manager. Applicants must provide their own transport and accommodation since staff housing is not available.

What You Need to Qualify
- Grade 12 certificate (Std 10) or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years’ experience as a fuel attendant
- Experience in Occupational Health and Safety
- Knowledge of Customer Care Principles
- Basic accounting and mathematical skills
- Previous experience handling cash is essential
- Good communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in two languages including English
- Willingness to take a practical exam during the interview
Extras That Could Help
- 1 year experience in the tourism industry
- Occupational Health and Safety certificate
- First Aid level 1 certificate
What You Will Be Doing
- Provide general service at the filling station: fill vehicles with fuel and oil, take payments, check water levels, oil, tire pressure, and clean windscreens.
- Take daily fuel pump readings and ensure they match sales.
- Follow safety rules at all times according to the law.
- Keep the filling station and area clean and hygienic.
- Monitor fuel and oil stock levels daily.
- Order fuel when levels are low following procurement rules.
- Update fuel prices as per pricing schedules.
- Serve customers politely and carefully to avoid mistakes.
- Give customers information and directions about the park and local attractions.
- Verify signatures and check calculations on manual coupons.
- Inspect equipment for faults and record findings.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
