What Teacher Assistants Will Do

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

One of the following:

• A Post-matric certificate (NQF Level 5) in Early Childhood Development
• An undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Development (NQF Level 6)
• A Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase

A PGCE will be needed if the degree is not education-specific (for example, a qualification in Psychology).

Other Requirements

• SACE registration
• Police clearance
• 2 to 5 years of teaching experience
• Basic computer and digital learning skills
• First Aid knowledge
