Agricultural Research Council – Temporary Asset Verification Clerks (6-Month Fixed Term Contract)

Are you detail-oriented and looking for an opportunity to gain experience in asset management? The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is inviting suitably qualified individuals to apply for the position of Temporary Asset Verification Clerk.

We have 54 positions available on a six-month fixed-term contract at our Central Office in Hatfield. If you’re ready to take on the challenge of verifying and managing assets, we encourage you to apply before the closing date on August 30, 2024.

About the Position:

As a Temporary Asset Verification Clerk, your main responsibilities will include:

Asset Verification: Conduct 100% verification of assets from the fixed asset register to the physical location.

Asset Tagging: Tag all assets with new barcodes to ensure proper tracking and management.

Completeness Check: Prepare a list of assets that are physically present but not recorded on the fixed asset register.

Data Updating: Update the asset information in the asset management system (NetTrace), ensuring accurate details, location, and condition of each asset.

Support Functions: Assist the ARC’s asset management team with various asset management functions across different locations.

You will report directly to the ARC asset management team at the allocated site.

Requirements to Apply:

  • Grade 12 certificate/Matric.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Additional Information:

Applicants must include a covering letter, detailed CV, and certified copies of certificates and supporting documents, including a driver’s license and contact information for at least three referees.

Non-RSA citizens must attach certified copies of their work permits and provide details of three traceable referees.

Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by a SAQA evaluation report.
