✅ Cashier (External Applications Only)

As a Cashbuild Cashier, you will be responsible for handling Point of Sale (POS) transactions, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining accurate records. Your main job is to process sales while preventing losses and ensuring cash handling procedures are followed correctly.

📌 Requirements for Cashier Position:

✔️ Grade 12 OR at least one year of work experience in a related field.
✔️ Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
✔️ Basic math skills for accurate transactions.
✔️ Strong administration skills.
✔️ Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
✔️ Ability to work under pressure.

🛒 Cashier Responsibilities:

🔹 Cash Handling:

• Ensure all cash, floats, and petty cash balance correctly (no shortages or overs).
• Accurately capture payments and provide correct change.
• Perform end-of-day cash-ups and drop daily takings into the safe.

🔹 Customer Service:

• Provide fast and friendly service to all customers.
• Direct customers to the right department for assistance.
• Maintain a professional and neat appearance as per the company dress code.

🔹 Security & Safety:

• Follow company security procedures (e.g., password control at till points).
• Report any suspicious activities or cash discrepancies.
• Maintain a safe and organized cashier area.

🔹 Administrative Duties:

• File and organize all cashier-related paperwork.
• Follow company policies for all transactions.

✅ General Assistant (External Applications Only)

As a General Assistant, your main responsibility is to assist customers, handle merchandise, and keep the store clean and organized. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in a well-managed store.

📌 Requirements for General Assistant Position:

✔️ Grade 10 (NQF 3) plus one year of work experience OR Grade 12 without work experience.
✔️ Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
✔️ Valid South African ID or work permit.
✔️ Basic math skills.
✔️ Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
✔️ Ability to work under pressure and handle stock efficiently.

📌 General Assistant Responsibilities:

🔹 Customer Service:

• Help customers find the right products and answer their queries.
• Assist with customer complaints and find quick solutions.

🔹 Stock & Merchandising:

• Ensure shelves are fully stocked and neatly arranged.
• Maintain correct price labels on shelves.
• Safely handle bulk stock in designated areas.

🔹 Housekeeping & Safety:

• Keep aisles and stock areas clean and free from obstacles.
• Follow safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Complete daily checklists for canteen, toilets, and overall cleanliness.

🔹 Stock Loss Management:

• Report damaged or missing stock to the Store Manager.
• Prevent theft and ensure all stock is accounted for.

🔹 Teamwork & Communication:

• Work closely with colleagues, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth store operations.
• Share relevant information with the team and report any issues to management.
