What You’ll Do as a Checkers Merchandiser Learner:

As a Merchandiser, you’ll play a critical role in keeping the store visually appealing and ensuring products are well-presented. Here’s a closer look at your daily tasks:

• Stock Monitoring: Count and check stock for merchandising, then document it accurately.
• Unpack and Organize: Receive new stock, unpack it, and display it neatly on the shelves.
• Eye-Catching Displays: Arrange and maintain displays to attract customers and ensure all products are visible and well-placed.
• Accurate Record Keeping: Track stock used, monitor stock levels, and ensure no shortages or overstocking.

• Seasonal Promotions: Set up special displays for seasonal promotions, events, or product launches.
• Display Rules Compliance: Stick to merchandising guidelines to maintain consistency across all stores.
• Creative Flair: Use your creative skills to enhance displays with props, colors, and lighting to grab attention.
• Stock Quality Checks: Check for damaged or expired products and remove them from shelves.
• Stock Rotation: Ensure older products are sold first by rotating the stock and keeping it fresh.

• Work with Teams: Collaborate with marketing, sales, and other teams to ensure product success.
• Store Appearance: Keep the merchandising area and storeroom tidy, clean, and organized.
• Pricing Accuracy: Make sure product indicators (PI) labels and price stickers are accurate and up-to-date.
• Customer Interaction: Assist customers with product information, offer advice, and handle any feedback or complaints they may have.

Requirements for the Position:

To be eligible for the Merchandiser Learnership, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:

• Matric Certificate (National Senior Certificate or equivalent)
• English Proficiency
• Live within 15km of the job location
• Clear Criminal Record
• Own a Smartphone (required for the job and application process)

Preferences (Not Required but Helpful):

• Prior experience in a learnership program or in the retail industry is a plus.
• South African citizenship is preferred.
