Job Title: Checkers Outdoor Manager

Purpose of the Job

As the Checkers Outdoor Manager, you will be responsible for effectively managing the store to ensure that operational, administrative, and managerial duties align with the Checkers Outdoor brand image. This role involves managing stock and staff efficiently, ensuring security measures are up to standard, and maximizing the store’s profitability.

Additionally, you will focus on minimizing shrinkage and wastage, maintaining excellent housekeeping and merchandising standards, executing pricing and product promotions, and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent on-shelf availability.

Job Objectives

Sales and Profit Generation: Drive sales and profit for the Checkers Outdoor store.
Compliance: Ensure the store complies with labor and other relevant laws.
Customer Focus: Meet and exceed customer expectations through exceptional service.
Stock Management: Manage stock in accordance with company policies.
Employee Development: Ensure continuous training and development of all employees.
Improvement Identification: Identify improvement opportunities and challenges, recommending corrective actions proactively.

Qualifications

Essential: National Senior Certificate/Matric Equivalent
Advantageous: Degree/Diploma in a related field

Experience

Desirable:

Minimum of 1+ years of management experience in the outdoor industry, with exposure to retail sales management or supervisory roles.

Skills:

Experience in managing inventory, buying, staff, merchandising, costs, and profitability of an outdoor store.
