About the Job

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for an experienced and hardworking Cleaner to join their Elarduspark store team. The role is all about maintaining top hygiene and cleanliness standards in all parts of the store. Your job will help create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming space for customers and staff.

You’ll be responsible for cleaning and maintaining several areas such as the store floor, stockroom, dispensary, admin offices, and staff canteen. Keeping the store clean helps customers enjoy their shopping experience and ensures a healthy workspace for the whole team.

Minimum Requirements

To apply for this position, you need to meet a few key requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric certificate
At least 6 months of cleaning experience
A good understanding of the English language (spoken and written)
Basic customer service skills
Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

It will also be a plus if you can speak more than one language or have previous cleaning experience in a retail store.

Your Daily Duties

As a cleaner at Dis-Chem, you’ll play a big role in making sure the store looks its best every day. Some of your daily tasks will include:

Maintaining a high standard of hygiene in all areas of the store before opening hours.
Developing and following a cleaning routine to ensure every section of the store is spotless.
Keeping restrooms and canteen areas clean and well-stocked at all times.
Being available during trading hours to clean up spills or messes whenever needed.
Using the right cleaning products and tools for each specific task.
Making sure wet floor signs are used correctly for safety.
Being friendly, professional, and ready to assist customers when necessary.
Always working in line with Health and Safety Regulations.

Skills and Qualities Needed

Prior cleaning experience
Good command of English (spoken and written)
Great attention to detail

Good time management skills

If you’ve worked in a retail cleaning position before and can speak more than one language, that will definitely be to your advantage.

Working Conditions
