About the Position

The DC Assistant role at Clicks Group involves working across different sections of the warehouse, including receiving, picking, packing, dispatching, returns, stock control, and replenishment.

Your main responsibility will be to ensure that products move smoothly through the warehouse while maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality. This includes preparing packages, performing stock checks, and making sure all items are ready for delivery to stores or customers.

This position plays a vital role in helping Clicks provide excellent service to its customers by ensuring orders are processed correctly and on time.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a DC Assistant, your tasks will include:

Working in all warehouse sections, such as receiving, picking, dispatch, returns, and replenishment.
Receiving, checking, and picking stock for orders while ensuring accuracy.
Comparing reference numbers to ensure correct stock handling and reporting any errors to your supervisor.
Preparing items for packaging and shrink-wrapping, especially for fragile products.
Selecting the correct packaging material and size for each order.
Placing labels neatly and accurately on all packages.
Maintaining health and safety standards in the warehouse at all times.
Keeping your workstation clean and organized.
Helping colleagues when needed and assisting in other sections if required.
Participating in stock counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
Ensuring all allocated orders are fully picked and packed properly according to company standards.
Meeting daily, weekly, and monthly targets to support overall warehouse performance.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

Matric (Grade 12) – Essential

Experience:

Basic understanding of warehouse processes – Advantageous
Knowledge of materials handling – Advantageous

Skills Required:

Basic numeracy and literacy skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Problem-solving skills to handle challenges effectively
Ability to manage and resolve conflicts professionally
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Planning and organizing skills – Advantageous
