What You Will Do as a Shop Assistant / Cashier
In this role, you’ll be responsible for making sure customers have a smooth and positive shopping experience when they check out and browse products.
Key duties include:
- Operating the point of sale (POS) efficiently, scanning products accurately, and processing payments safely
- Handling cash securely at all times to avoid errors or losses
- Promoting the Clicks clubcard and enrolling new members to meet participation goals
- Informing customers about current promotions so they “feel good and pay less”
- Providing friendly, professional service that represents the Clicks brand well
- Maintaining store appearance by managing merchandising and keeping the store tidy
- Staying updated on all products, promotions, and events so you can help customers with accurate info
- Acting as a team player by following company values and supporting the store’s vision to be the best health and beauty retailer
Skills and Knowledge You Should Have
- Basic math skills to do sales and cash handling correctly
- A retail or FMCG background, with understanding of merchandising and stock management
- Strong customer service focus with good communication skills
- Ability to organize and plan your work well
- Problem-solving skills to handle issues calmly and effectively
- Computer literacy and numeracy for daily transactions

Minimum Requirements to Apply
- Experience in customer-facing retail or FMCG roles is preferred but not essential
- A Grade 12 certificate is required
- For better chances, having at least 50% in both Maths and English at Grade 12 level is desirable
