Key Purpose
The Cleaner will ensure the cleanliness of designated work areas as directed by the Supervising Officer, adhering to cleaning specifications and frequency requirements.
Waste Management: Empty and clean waste bins, transport waste to collection points.
Floor Care: Sweep floors with brushes or dust mops, mop floors with wet/damp mops, and suction clean carpeted areas.
Cleaning Equipment: Use scrubbing, polishing, and pick-up machines after receiving proper training.
Furniture & Surface Cleaning: Dust, wipe, wash, or polish furniture, shelves, and ledges.
Restroom Care: Clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers, and drinking fountains.
Replenishment: Ensure soap, toilet rolls, and paper towels are restocked.
Gardening: Maintain gardens by removing weeds, using pesticides, cutting lawns, and pruning.
Chemical Usage: Use cleaning agents and chemicals safely, following proper instructions and training.
Miscellaneous Tasks: Undertake additional cleaning duties such as wall washing, inside window cleaning, and drain cleaning.
Skills, Experience & Education
Education: Grade 12/Matric qualification.
Experience: Ideally, experience in an FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
Skills: Literate and numerate, ability to work alone or in teams, and willingness to train colleagues as needed.
