About the Role

As a Bus Driver Assistant at Curro, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of learners during transportation. You will work closely with the bus driver, teachers, parents, and learners to make sure every child has a safe and positive experience traveling to and from school.

Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

Assisting Learners During Transportation

• Help learners get on and off the bus safely.
• Ensure learners behave properly while in transit.
• Collect and deliver learners “door to door” and communicate with parents when necessary.
• Transport learners to and from the correct locations.
• Assist learners with carrying bags and ensure safe storage during transit.
• Address any misbehavior appropriately or report to the Transport Manager.

Record Keeping

• Complete periodic reports such as passenger counts, learner temperatures, well-being, and behavior.

Additional Ad-Hoc Duties

• Perform general duties during non-driving times, which may include assisting the switchboard, cleaning, or food distribution.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Previous childcare experience is essential.
