Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you’ll need:

  • A qualification in Early Childhood Development (ECD)
  • Relevant experience in a similar classroom or school support role
  • A clear criminal record (safety is a top priority in all Curro schools)

Key Responsibilities

As a Class Assistant, you will play an important support role in the classroom. Your tasks will include:

  1. Classroom and Learning Support
    • Assist the class teacher with lessons and activities.
    • Help maintain a calm, organised, and educational atmosphere in the classroom.
    • Support learners during lessons to help them stay engaged and confident.
  2. School Equipment and Stock Management
    • Take responsibility for all school materials, books, and equipment in the class.
    • Assist with keeping teaching spaces neat and well-prepared.
  3. Collaboration with Teachers
    • Work closely with the phase teachers to ensure smooth daily operations.
    • Support lesson planning and preparation.
  4. Sport and Cultural Activities
    • Help organise and supervise sporting events, cultural activities, and other extra-curricular programmes.
    • Encourage learners to participate and enjoy a balanced school life.
  5. Administrative and Other Duties
    • Assist with admin work such as attendance registers and basic record-keeping.
    • Step in for other duties as needed to support the school.
