Department of Employment and Labour 24-Month Internship Programme

The Department of Employment and Labour invites suitably qualified South African graduates to apply for their 24-Month Graduate Internship Programme. This programme comes with multiple internship posts across different units, and the closing date for applications is 05 December 2025. What This Internship Programme Is All About

This national internship programme is designed for unemployed South African graduates who want to gain workplace experience for the first time. Applicants must not have taken part in any internship before. The Department is an equal opportunity employer, and preference will be given to young people from previously disadvantaged groups, including people living with disabilities. The aim is to give more South Africans a fair chance to enter the job market.

The internship lasts for 24 months, and every position comes with a monthly stipend of R7 860.50. With several posts available across the country, graduates in ICT, Business, Law, Economics, Statistics, Public Administration, Supply Chain, Graphic Design, and more have a chance to apply.

Internship Posts Available

INTERN: Remote ICT Technicians (X4 Posts)

Location: Head Office, Pretoria
Ref No: HRP20KRIT/HO
Stipend: R7 860.50 per month

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma (NQF6) or Degree (NQF7) in Information Technology
  • A+ or N+ certificate will be an advantage

What You Will Do

  • Provide remote and telephonic support to end-users
  • Help install and troubleshoot desktop applications
  • Assist with user account queries
  • Update and follow up on IT service calls
  • Work on the Information Technology Service Management System (ITSM)

INTERN: ICT Service Desk Agents (X4 Posts)

Location: Pretoria Head Office
Ref No: HR/P20K/ISDA/HO

Requirements

  • National Higher Certificate or NQF5 Diploma in ICT
  • A+ certificate is an advantage

Duties

  • Log and track IT incidents and service requests
  • Attach supporting documents to calls
  • Escalate calls where necessary
  • Follow up on user and engineer activities
  • Manage all ITSM call records

INTERN: Contract and Licence Controller (ICT) (X5 Posts)

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Law, Commercial Law, Financial Management, or Information Technology

Duties

  • Help manage ICT service level agreements
  • Support software procurement processes
  • Track and administer software licences
  • Contribute to improving contract and service level management

INTERN: Asset Management Officer (ICT) (X3 Posts)

  • Qualification in Supply Chain, Asset Management, Business Management, Accounting, Public Management, or Internal Auditing

Duties

  • Assist with ICT inventory
  • Support store administration tasks
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain on procurement and disposal

INTERN: Administration Clerk (ICT)

Duties

  • Provide administrative and clerical support

  • Type letters, memos, and submissions

INTERN: Labour Market Information & Statistics (X2 Posts)

Duties

  • Collect and verify labour market data
  • Analyse data and produce statistical reports

INTERN: Digital Content Creator (X1 Post)

Requirements

  • Diploma in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or Visual Communication

Duties

  • Create posters, banners, and digital templates
  • Edit videos and photos
  • Prepare visuals for online campaigns
  • Follow brand guidelines
  • Upload and monitor digital content

INTERN: Researcher (X1 Post)

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, or Public Administration

Duties

  • Review research reports
  • Analyse data and historical trends
  • Produce analytical reports
  • Work with stakeholders
